Choreographer/ Dancer: I-Ling Liu(劉奕伶)
Resides in Queens, New York, I-Ling Liu [ee-ling-liou] 劉奕伶, a dance artist originally from Taiwan and received a BFA from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2005, was a former member of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company for 11 years and becomes one of the repetiteurs who re-stages BTJ/AZ’s works and enjoys sharing her knowledge as a performer. In 2018 she was a soloist in Luca Veggetti’s work and performed in Bologna, Italy. I-Ling has been creating and displaying her works as well as collaborating with visual artists, photographers, musicians, directors and actors in theater and film. Her work has been presented throughout New York City. She was one of the recipients of Dance in Queens Awardees: Space Exploration from Topaz Arts in 2012 and Explore the Metropolis Choreographer + Composer Residency in 2019.

Against the backdrop of Taiwan’s cultural awakening, a new genre is stepping front of stage as Taipei begins to snap at Bangkok’s heels as the drag queen capital of Asia.
