upbeat 樂觀的、積極的，相反詞是悲觀的 downbeat
stabilize 使其穩定、安定，字尾加個 r 就變成穩定劑 stabilizer
striking 突出、驚人、引人注目的

👨‍💼"While we understand the desire for optimism, we also caution that the U.S. outbreak is far from over," analyst Matthew Harrison said.
分析師馬修哈里遜說：「我們理解大家渴望抱持樂觀，但也要警告說美國的疫情大流感離結束還很遠。」

🧫"We believe the path to re-opening the economy will be long. It will require turning on and off various forms of social distancing and will only come to an end when vaccines are available, in the spring of 2021 at the earliest."

postpone 延期，post- 是「後」的意思，很實用的單字
hold 舉辦，不是 hold 住姐的 hold

🥊The Tokyo 2020 Olympics were postponed until 2021 on Tuesday as the coronavirus pandemic spreads world-wide, an unprecedented shifting of the world’s largest sporting event that casts a universe of athletes, broadcasters, sponsors and sports organizations into a period of protracted uncertainty.
因為前所未見的疫情影響，日本週二宣佈 2020 東奧延至 2021。世界最大運動賽事變動，影響遍及全球運動員

postpone 延期，前面剛學過
spread （疫情、疾病）擴散
unprecedented 空前的
a universe of athletes 一個宇宙的運動員，意思是非常大量運動員
protracted 延長持續的
uncertainty 不確定性

🥊 Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and IOC President Thomas Bach agreed in a phone call Tuesday to delay the Games, previously scheduled to start July 24, for around one year. No new date was set, and the postponement throws into question how athletes will qualify for the rescheduled event and what the newly rebuilt Summer Games might look like.
