I have been working on many things on many directions. Somehow I felt so down last week despite I have been making a lot of efforts. Have you been there?

But I feel pretty good today (Monday) somehow. I just kept moving forward without too much push and too much worrying.

I organized some photos and videos on my computer last night which I really wanted to do. I kept working out everyday even small amount of time.

Especially musicians and creative people are so self conscious about ourselves! Please be kind to yourself and take it easy! Don’t think too much and don’t worry! You are doing good! Little tiny efforts everyday and sometimes you don’t feel any improvement but that’s very normal!

Especially if you see social media too much then it’s so easy to compare yourself others so I alway say this. Don’t compare! Don’t expect too fast! Be patient is the key to success.

One thing was a great decision for me last week. I booked photo session two days with my friend @vicbrazen Vic is not only a talented photographer but he is a sweet human being! That’s so important for me as a person! Be a nice person behind guitar playing! We got so many great photos to share with you!

How about this one? I am standing in front of my big shed behind my house. I never ever though this shed is good for my photo! @vicbrazen had a great 👁 and wonderful 💡 with my @kanjikawabata #kanjiguitar ...

จุดเริ่มต้นของบริษัทแห่งนี้ เกิดขึ้นในปี 1991

Allen Adham, Michael Morhaime และ Frank Pearce นักศึกษาปริญญาตรีจบใหม่จาก University of California, Los Angeles หรือ UCLA ที่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ได้ร่วมกันก่อตั้งบริษัท Silicon & Synapse, Inc. จากความชื่นชอบในการเล่นเกม

ก่อนที่บริษัทจะถูกเข้าซื้อกิจการไปโดย Davidson & Associates บริษัทผู้จัดจำหน่ายเกม
ตั้งแต่ปี 1994 หรือหลังจากก่อตั้งได้เพียง 3 ปี ด้วยมูลค่าราว 375 ล้านบาท

บริษัทแห่งนี้ ก็ได้พัฒนาเกม ที่กลายมาเป็นเกมท็อประดับโลกมากมาย ยกตัวอย่างเช่น Warcraft, StarCraft, Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Diablo, Hearthstone และ Overwatch

จะเห็นได้ว่าหลายเกมเป็นเกมที่เราคุ้นหูกันเป็นอย่างดี
โดยที่ตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมา ฐานผู้เล่นเกมของทางบริษัท
ก็ได้เพิ่มสูงขึ้นตามนักเล่นเกมและการเติบโตของยุคคอมพิวเตอร์

หนึ่งในจุดเปลี่ยนสำคัญของ Blizzard Entertainment เกิดขึ้นในปี 2004
ซึ่งเป็นปีที่ทางบริษัทได้เปิดตัวเกม “World of Warcraft” ออกสู่ตลาดโลก

เกมดังกล่าวได้เข้ามาปฏิวัติโมเดลการหารายได้ของหลาย ๆ สตูดิโอเกมทั่วโลก
เพราะการที่ผู้เล่นจะสามารถเล่นเกม World of Warcraft ได้นั้น จำเป็นต้องสมัครสมาชิก

โดยสมาชิกที่ว่านี้จะอยู่ในรูปแบบ Subscription หรือสมาชิกรายเดือน
ซึ่งก็ถือเป็นโมเดลที่แปลกมากในสมัยนั้น เพราะหากว่าเกมไม่ได้ฮิตจริง
การที่ผู้เล่นจะยอมจ่ายสมาชิกรายเดือนเพื่อเล่นเกม แทบเป็นไปไม่ได้เลย
อย่างไรก็ตาม หลังจาก World of Warcraft เปิดตัวไปได้เพียง 6 ปี
เกมนี้ก็ได้เติบโตและประสบความสำเร็จอย่างมาก
จนมียอดสมาชิกที่จ่ายเงินรายเดือนให้กับเกมมากกว่า 12 ล้านบัญชี เลยทีเดียว

จากความสำเร็จของเกม World of Warcraft ก็ได้ทำให้ Blizzard Entertainment
กลายเป็นที่สนใจของบริษัทอื่น

บริษัท Blizzard Entertainment จึงถูกเข้าซื้อกิจการจาก Vivendi บริษัทสัญชาติฝรั่งเศส เจ้าแห่งการควบรวมกิจการ และในท้ายที่สุดก็ถูกควบรวมอีกครั้งจากบริษัท Activision
จนกลายมาเป็นบริษัท “Activision Blizzard” ในปัจจุบัน
โดยดีลการซื้อกิจการครั้งนั้นมีมูลค่ามากถึง 6 แสนล้านบาท เลยทีเดียว

ทีนี้เรามาดูกันว่าผลประกอบการของ Activision Blizzard ที่ผ่านมา เป็นอย่างไร ?

ปี 2017 รายได้ 2.2 แสนล้านบาท กำไร 0.9 หมื่นล้านบาท
ปี 2018 รายได้ 2.4 แสนล้านบาท กำไร 5.9 หมื่นล้านบาท
ปี 2019 รายได้ 2.1 แสนล้านบาท กำไร 4.8 หมื่นล้านบาท
ปี 2020 รายได้ 2.6 แสนล้านบาท กำไร 7.0 หมื่นล้านบาท

จากผลประกอบการที่ผ่านมา สะท้อนให้เห็นว่าบริษัทมีกำไรที่เพิ่มขึ้นแบบก้าวกระโดด
ซึ่งในช่วงที่ผ่านมาทางบริษัทก็ได้มีการปรับตัวตามพฤติกรรมการเล่นเกมบนสมาร์ตโฟน

อย่างในกรณีล่าสุดก็คือการเข้าควบรวมกับบริษัท King Digital เจ้าของ Candy Crush เกมสมาร์ตโฟนยอดฮิตระดับโลก ด้วยมูลค่ามากถึง 1.9 แสนล้านบาท รวมถึงการนำแบรนด์เกมที่บริษัทเป็นเจ้าของอยู่แล้วมาพัฒนาเป็นเกมบนสมาร์ตโฟน เช่น Diablo, Call of Duty รวมถึง Overwatch ที่อยู่ในระหว่างการพัฒนา

ปัจจุบัน Activision Blizzard ถือเป็น 1 ใน 5 บริษัทที่ทำธุรกิจเกี่ยวข้องกับเกม
ที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก โดยมีมูลค่าบริษัทมากถึง 2.3 ล้านล้านบาท

ปิดท้ายด้วยสิ่งที่หลายคนอาจจะสงสัยว่า Warcraft และ Dota 2 เกี่ยวข้องอะไรกัน ?

จริง ๆ แล้ว Dota 2 เรียกได้ว่ามีรากฐานตัวละครมาจากเกม Warcraft แทบจะทั้งหมด

เหตุผลก็เพราะว่าในอดีต Activision Blizzard เคยอนุญาตให้ผู้เล่นทั่วไป
สามารถตกแต่งหรือเปลี่ยนข้อมูลของเกมได้
จึงทำให้นักพัฒนาที่ชื่อว่า “IceFrog” นำตัวเกม Warcraft มาดัดแปลงเป็นเกม Dota

แต่ต่อมาทาง Valve Corporation ก็ได้ว่าจ้าง IceFrog ให้เข้ามาพัฒนาตัวเกมดังกล่าวอย่างจริงจัง
จนในที่สุด ก็ได้พัฒนาออกมาเป็นเกม Dota 2 เกมระดับโลก ที่มีเงินรางวัลระดับพันล้าน
ที่แม้จะได้ไอเดียมาจาก Warcraft แต่ทางบริษัท Activision Blizzard จะไม่ได้รับส่วนแบ่งอะไรเลย..
