Staying home with the kids can be frustrating. That, I've never had a doubt. But such days can also be rewarding and fulfilling and these are the moments we will look back on later in life - when our house is peaceful and free of tiny humans - and wish we had done more to treasure.
Take a peek into our life at home tonight on Ch 8, 8:30pm, 前线追踪 as we share more about what we've been up to. Most of you probably know by now if you keep up with our stories - we do homework, we learn music, we play games, we dance and we do chores together. The kids are also given ample opportunities to be bored so that they can make use of their imagination and create unique ways to have fun.
Over the years, I've had the chance to air my views on TV about the life of a stay-home mum, on baby bonuses, on screen time for kids etc. That said, I am not a born natural speaker and it still makes me nervous every time I do an interview. I take it as a golden opportunity to share and a good way to build up my confidence. This time round, the kids were asked to answer a couple of questions too and let's just say while they were super excited beforehand, it was quite a nerve-racking experience eventually because one got anxious and couldn't think of the right words, one felt stressed and cried, and one refused to sit properly. Oh well.
I was all alone at home with the kids when the crew came and we started filming shortly after I made our messy house look more presentable. That would explain why I didn't manage to even look in the mirror before my interview began, much less try to doll up, which I thought would defeat the purpose of sharing the truth about our life. So tonight, though what you see is what you get, but please also remember that behind all the happy faces and fun bonding, there is also the inevitable struggle, agony and tears. #wearejustlikeyou
Kudos to the kids for being mostly cooperative during the 3-hour long filming (for a segment that will last only around 7 min), for seeing this opportunity as a chance to learn and inspire others, for trying their best and not giving up in the face of obstacles.
Stay positive and hopeful. We will get there together.
