我們來聊聊 agree 這個字，一般人都知道這樣是錯的：
X I agree your opinion.
(我同意你的看法。）
對，當然需要一個 with:
√ I agree with your opinion.

真巧，這個禮拜有幾個人問我，「但什麼時候用 agree with, 什麼時候用 agree to 呢？ 」
其實，意思不一樣！
Agree with 是「同意」的意思。
Agree to 是「答應做某件事」。

Agree to 的一些例子：
I agreed to help my neighbor move some of his stuff.
(我答應鄰居可以幫他搬些東西。)
I agreed to work on Saturday. I actually don’t mind too much.
(我答應禮拜六可以去上班，其實我不是很介意這個。)

「答應」之意的 agree to 通常會用那兩個字，算是一組。
「同意」之意的 agree 用法比較彈性一點。可以單獨用：
I agree. (我同意。)
像我們上面說的，接名詞要用 with:
I totally agree with her view.
(我完全同意她的觀點。)
其實，後面可以說一個句子，不用說 with, 會用 that 來連接：
I agree that it isn’t a good time to start a new business.
(我同意，現在真的不太適合開新的公司。)
“That” 也可省略！
