The girls came together to make this DIY ocean for him using recycled materials and animal figurines they found in the house. It was so cute to see that they also did a submarine - using a toilet roll - which even had a periscope made out of pipe cleaners. Awesome 🎁!
Besides writing a card with her heartfelt wishes for him, Angel went the extra mile and took $8 out of her savings to put in an ang pow for her beloved Daddy. Yup, it's usually elders who give out ang pows, right? But, she always sees us giving red packets to our grandma and parents so I think she picked it up from there and just wanted to show her appreciation too. It's really 礼轻情意重, thanks for the thought, my dears.
As for the boy, well, he insists that it is also his birthday and wants to blow out all the candles 🎂 too. Haiyo, this boy and his ❤ for candles.
P.S. We were halfway through our dinner at Sakae Sushi when Angel suddenly said "Papa is so nice to eat with us tonight, it's his birthday." I pondered a couple of seconds about whether she means he chose to eat with family on his special day and it made her happy. But she continued saying "Cos' we usually don't get to eat with him." Haha. Okay, she is just happy that he knocked off early (for him, early meant nearing 8pm) today and they got to see him more. Awww, how much his presence means to them, actually.
