Do I miss the dishes from Taiwan? Well, of course. Steak, sushi, spaghetti, risotto and xiao long bao, it seems that dishes from all over the world have become even tastier between the fingertips of Taiwanese. I am not that kind of person who would be so criticized about the food I eat, but I often find myself miss a lot the flavour of the dishes whenever I’m travelling around the world.
Shopping for the groceries in Westfield Shopping Mall, I passed a section of an outdoor dining area, decorated with the artificial orchids, but where was the counter? It was so strange that I could only discover the recycling area. While I was wondering, it was the moment that I found out a piece of a gigantic floor-to-ceiling window in Japanese style- oh, it was a take-out sushi shop called “itsu”.
Japanese cuisine never goes wrong in foreign countries, there was no need to be hesitated and wondering if I should give it a try or not.
I chose a plate of raw fish sushi with avocado, which is my favourite combination of sushi; especially after the devastated grocery shopping, I couldn’t wait until I put a mouthful of that delicate, pleasant and juicy sushi.
“Could I have some wasabi, please?”
“Of course! How many of that do you need?”
“Two, thank you.” The cashier was a little bit shocked, but still, put two packs of wasabi on the tray.
However, what exactly is “itsu’? Is it the combination of “Eat sushi “, or “いつ ( “When” in Japanese)”? I have no idea.
