Two days back at Stadium Panasonic Shah Alam, I was so happy to see one of my old running friend @jason.siva.16 back on action while I was doing the power drills after sprint training. It brought me back to this meaningful long post!
I would like to thank all the Photographer for taking down all these wonderful photos of us during the race! So memorable.
Looking back when I started as a trail runner, then to road runner, track runner, and now venture into Towerrunning Sport, I have learned so much from being active on it.
From the very beginning, I am just a newbie into the sport, absorbing all the knowledge from the best runner at the time, asking them how they train, collecting information and do my own research from the internet.
With such a good competition from them, I am able to progress, improve, and run side by side with them until one day I started to beat them.
Throughout the journey, sometimes I won, sometimes I lost, but I always learned from the experience. I enjoy the race even though I did not win the race as I learn even more from it. I always believe that I will be better and come back even stronger.
Sad things happened down the years as some of the runners stopped completely and not running anymore. I understand that everyone have their own main priority to be focus in like earn a living, marriage, having their own family or firstborn child, work life, career, injuries and illness, etc. I felt sad when they stopped completely although I wish they can still go for 10-20 min jog a day or perhaps venture into other sport like my friend Saddam, Jason.
In the end of the day, I am very glad that I am still staying in the sport although my current focus now is in Towerrunning sport. I only do major road races in Malaysia and sometimes oversea if I am happened to be around at that time.
What I want to tell here is that, stay active in sport, don't quit completely and life is like running, you have to keep learning and improving. Thanks to running, I am able to apply all the principles from it into my life as a professional athlete.
Always believe in yourself and strike it!

Yesterday Morning, first road race of year 2020. Took part in @selangormarathon for the 10km Men Open category.
Before the race, I have set myself a goal to clock a sub 34 min.
Took an 🍊 and some other fruits as well plus took @beetitsportmy double shots in the morning 2 hours before the event. Took @actiginofficial as well to ensure my glycogen replenish in a much faster way. Woke up pretty early to also have a small meal (cereals + soy milk).
What so special about the race yesterday is that I ran without a GPS watch. I ran based on my feeling. I am glad to be in the zone for quite a long time, like turning on the autopilot mode, crusing at about 90-95% effort. Cruise until the last 3k, autopilot mode switch off and I told myself time to accelerate and pick up the pace.
Photo captured by @smartpix.my showed me at the last stretch of the race. Doing my best to dig deep and close the gap down between me and Siva.
I am glad to run a sub 34 - 10km race without much key running workouts as my current training program are mostly focus in Towerrunning Sport.
I am looking forward on a 10k run next month in London and aiming for a good time. A sub 33 - 10k will be my goal. Current 10k PR at 2017 Taipei Sundown - 33:20 minutes. A night run and cold weather (10 - 12 deg), at the park.
And I am happy to be back on road race sometimes to meet so many runners here and gave you all the support at the finishing line. Thanks for the cheer throughout the race!

Dr. James Soong Announcing His Bid For The Presidency
Dear Friends,
Let me start by quoting Tagore. “It is the most distant course that comes nearest to thyself, and that training is the most intricate which leads to the utter simplicity of a tune.”
I’ve been traveling on this most distant course for 25 years! Five times I’d entered the race to become the President of the Republic of China and garnered nearly 18 million votes in total. To me, every vote is a life time of affirmation, for which I’m extremely grateful.
Election Day on January 11th of 2020 will mark the conclusion of my 6th and “final” campaign for the presidency. We are clear minded that the odds for James Soong winning the election are very low. But when I made up my mind to embark on the last mile of my political career it was without resentment or dismay. Just the opposite, I was freely content. The reason I am running this time is very similar to what motivated me to enter public service in the very beginning.
James Soong’s decision to serve was motivated by the belief in “God will reward the diligent.” This is a belief I’ve talked and written about most often and have for the past 25 years internalized as a motto to live by. “God will reward the diligent” came from the Book of Changes. It means God loves those that are diligent and will reward them with success. In another word, the teaching dovetailed perfectly with the Taiwanese people’s proud ethos of “winning by working hard!” A 77 year-old James Soong is running for president for the sixth time because one can only win by not being afraid to lose! By running, he wants to rekindle the pragmatic spirit the Taiwanese people was once famous for: “Winning by working hard!”
As a veteran of politics for over 40 years, I can proudly say I was a full participant and contributor to Taiwan’s evolving from an authoritarian system to a free and open democracy. I helped end martial law, lift the ban on political parties and press restrictions and amend Article 100 (domestic security) to end political persecution.
James Soong was instrumental in abolishing the “Permanent Congress” and paving the way for direct presidential elections and other democratic reforms.
During the peaceful revolution of the 80’s and 90’s, I felt deeply the pride and confidence of the Taiwanese people. Contrast with today’s polarization, chaos and stagnation, James Soong felt an obligation to once again stand up and stand with my fellow citizens. To renew and rediscover our pride and confidence!
Truth be told, I’d only contemplated running again on the morning of September 17, after Mr. Jerry Guo announced his withdrawal on the previous evening. I tossed and turned in bed that night worrying that if the Taiwanese people cannot free themselves of the “emotional blackmail” and “fear mongering” from the extreme partisans of the Blue and Green, it would be a tragedy for our country.
If a candidate with the international stature and the wherewithal did not come forward to help Taiwan navigate through the treacherous power game being played by the United States, China and Japan, it would be a pity.
Even though we are currently under such a gloomy and rueful cloud, I remain optimistic! That’s because I’m convinced Freedom and Democracy is Taiwan people’s common DNA. No party or politician will be able to sell Taiwan out. We have to have faith in each other and especially in our young. This generation of young people places a much higher bar for freedom and democracy than our generation.
I know many political activists who believe in and are genuine about “a welfare state that benefits all.” More than half of them are young people with bright futures. But our electoral system places a constraint on political parties other than the Blue and Green. For 25 years, it’s always been a battle of the two parties. There is no room for a third power to rise. If we don’t change our electoral system, Taiwan will always be drowning in the nightmare of the Blue-Green “emotional blackmail” and “fear mongering” and languishing in status quo!
January 11, 2020, will be James Soong’s “Final Battle.” I’ll be playing the role of “The Lonely Underdog.” I’ve been preparing myself for this battle for 44 years. For the first 14 years of my public service, I learned under the tutelage of the late former president, Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo, and the late former premier, Sun Yun Suan, on how to manage a country and to always have the people’s welfare in mind and be selfless. Then I was appointed the governor of the Province of Taiwan. I adhered to the principle of “every step taking is a step forward” and visited every corners of our island and learned that “there’s no such thing as a trivial matter when it comes to the issues concerning our people” and also “a tired official makes a higher citizenry.”
I love this passage in the Avatamsaka Sutra: “Stay true to oneself and enlightenment will come.” I am now carefree. My personal outcome is no longer important. I’ve completely put to rest my struggle of the past 44 years. James Soong is beginning his “Final Battle” without any burden or baggage.
This battle is not a battle for revenge. I firmly believe every political party in Taiwan has made real contribution to the country. My only wish is to open a new chapter for the freedom and democracy of Taiwan!
My wish is for the Republic of China to change from a quasi-presidential system to a parliamentary system.
My wish is for the voting age to be lowered to 18 so the younger generation can assume the mantle of their civic duty earlier. Also, for our educational system to be more grass root and less top down.
My wish is for a lower threshold for political party participation and a higher share of legislative safe seats for political parties.
My wish is for a lower requirement for the distribution of election finance funds so that elections are not limited to Blue and Green but multi-colored with a rainbow of small parties flourishing.
I sincerely wish Taiwanese voters can say goodbye to despair. To break free from the false dichotomy of “vote Green or Taiwan will desist” or “vote Blue or ROC is no more” perpetrated by the Blue-Green emotional wreckers. And stop punishing yourself by thinking the choices are only DPP, KMT, Cancel DPP or Never KMT. There are alternatives.
My wish is that every Taiwanese can put a spigot to their tears and exercise their free will. “Vote tearfully” is counter-productive to the cause of freedom and democracy and self destructive! Continuing down this path is not an option! I sincerely wish Taiwan can return to the ethos of “God will reward the diligent” of yesteryear, with every citizen believing in the maxim of “if you work hard, success will come!” and to overcome obstacles with mutual respect and tolerance.
Taiwan has the three advantages, including strategic geopolitical location, a highly cultivated society and democracy. We should treasure and use these advantages to the utmost! The Republic of China is a remarkable country. We are the perfect amalgamation of Chinese culture, Western culture, Japanese culture and indigenous Taiwan culture. We can delicately find our own way to flourish among the three powers of Sino-US-Japan. The road may be long and full of obstacles. But I am certain where there’s a will, there’s a way.
James Soong’s final battle is not for fame or fortune. Winning and losing is irrelevant. What matters is that Taiwan wins! ROC triumphs!

The Golden State Warriors desperately
needed someone besides Earl Boykins to make a basket in the
fourth quarter. Gilbert Arenas obliged.
The ice-cold Arenas made a 3-pointer and running layup in the
final 90 seconds, allowing the Warriors to hold on for a 102-98
victory over the Philadelphia 76ers that kept their playoff
hopes alive.
The Warriors saw their 25-point lead cut to 87-75 entering the
fourth quarter and had no one providing any offense besides the
5-5 Boykins, who scored 10 of his 23 points in the final period.
"I've always said that the fourth quarter is the easiest quarter
in the game," said Boykins, who made 8-of-14 shots. "You don't
have nothing to look forward to. You just have to go all out,
right there. Tonight, I was able to make my shots."
The 76ers pulled within two points three times, including 97-95
with 1:40 remaining on a driving layup by Aaron McKie.
Arenas was practically the only Warrior who did not have a hand
in their blistering first half. Having missed nine of his first
10 shots, Arenas pulled the trigger on a 3-pointer that gave
Golden State a 100-95 lead with 1:26 to go.
"I caught a great look and I didn't have a great look all
night," Arenas said.
We've (Arenas and himself) been doing this all year and tonight
was no different," Boykins said. "It's just a matter of who
wants the ball, and tonight we both wanted it."
Keith Van Horn answered eight seconds later with a 3-pointer,
again making it a two-point game. Philadelphia's Eric Snow fell
out of bounds with one rebound and Boykins ran down another
before Arenas drove the left side and banked in a runner for a
102-98 lead with 17 seconds left.
"He didn't have many points tonight, but he had five really
important points in the last minute and a half of the game,"
Warriors coach Eric Musselman said. "We put the ball in his
hand on the middle pick-and-roll and he took it to the rim."
Van Horn missed two free throws and Snow missed a 3-pointer,
allowing the Warriors to improve to 2-1 on their critical
five-game road trip.
Antawn Jamison scored 26 of his 30 points in the first half for
Golden State (36-37), which remained 2 1/2 games behind Phoenix
(37-34) for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Western
Conference.
"This is a tough stretch and we have to do well in this
stretch," Jamison said. "We know we have a chance but we have
to play near perfect basketball."
Allen Iverson had 28 points and 10 assists for the Sixers, who
are 2-3 since posting a 15-2 mark coming out of the All-Star
break. They fell 1 1/2 games behind New Jersey in the race
for the Atlantic Division title.
"That's what happens when you get down (25) points," Iverson
said. "You fight and fight and get back into the game, and then
at the end of the game everything has to go perfect. It don't
work that way in this game."
The Sixers were swept in the season series by the Warriors for
the first time since the 1996-97 campaign. Philadelphia coach
Larry Brown, who picked up three technical fouls in the two
games, did not meet the media afterward.
"He's just resting up," assistant John Kuester said. "We're
going to take a trip to Atlanta. He's very disappointed. This is
a tough loss."
In the first half, Jamison and the Warriors were red-hot and
Iverson, Brown and the Sixers lost their cool.
Jamison scored 16 points in the opening period and Golden State
made nine of its last 11 shots, building a 33-24 lead. His
fast-break dunk extended the advantage to 47-32 midway through
the second quarter.
In the last five minutes of the first half, Derrick Coleman was
called for flagrant and technical fouls and Brown and Iverson
were whistled for technicals. Golden State scored four straight
easy baskets off turnovers and built its largest lead at 66-41
with 30 seconds to go.
"(At halftime, Brown) said, 'I'm not going to throw any tirade
or anything, or I could be in here for hours telling you all
what you did wrong,'" McKie said.
It was still 70-45 early in the third quarter before the Sixers
began their comeback. They turned up their defensive pressure
and relied on Iverson, who scored 12 points in the period.
Philadelphia opened the fourth quarter with a 10-2 run that
Boykins halted with two free throws. Layups by Kenny Thomas and
McKie made it 91-89 with 5:12 remaining, but Boykins answered
again, this time with a jumper and a runner that rebuilt the
lead to six points with 3:35 left.
"With Iverson having five fouls, we tried to keep it in Boykins'
hands," Musselman said. "He about 12 points in 11 minutes in
the first half and we felt that he really had his confidence
going tonight."
"He played great," Iverson said. "He showed a lot of heart for
a guy that size. That speaks for itself. The guy plays with his
heart and the ability that God gave him. Never under estimate
anyone on this level."

For one night, Linas Kleiza overshadowed Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony.
Kleiza scored a career-high 41 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Denver Nuggets beat the Utah Jazz 120-109 on Thursday night.
"I've now scored 40 points on the highest stage you can ever score," said Kleiza, whose previous career-high of 29 came March 15 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
"It was definitely a special night," Kleiza said. "I will remember this night for the rest of my life."
The Nuggets have been searching for a consistent third scorer behind Anthony and Iverson, and Kleiza filled the role Thursday. He got going early, leaking out on the fast break and getting easy layups. He then moved to the outside, going 4-for-8 from 3-point range.
"He got a couple of easy ones, and once you get a couple of layups, the basket looks bigger," said Iverson, who had 28 points. "He played a great game, and hopefully he can continue to play that way."
Kleiza scored 27 points in the first half, 20 in the second quarter when Denver took a 61-59 lead at the break.
"I knew after the first half when I had 27 it was going to be a special night," Kleiza said.
Kleiza had 39 points when he stepped to the line with 3:44 left. The home crowd gave him a big ovation as he sank both free throws for Denver's final points of the game.
Kleiza wasn't the only one racking up special numbers against the Jazz. Marcus Camby tied his career high in rebounds (24) and blocks (11) to help the Nuggets end a two-game losing streak.
"Camby had a terrific game," Utah head coach Jerry Sloan said. "He ran at the basketball and blocked shots and really had us guessing what was happening out on the floor."
Despite big nights from Kleiza and Camby, the Jazz trailed by just two after a pair of free throws by Mehmet Okur midway through the third quarter. But the Nuggets kept pushing the ball, and Anthony scored eight of his 23 points in the final three minutes of the period as Denver grabbed a 98-88 lead heading into the fourth.
The Nuggets kept up the pace, going on a 10-3 run in the first 3:09 of the final quarter to take a 108-91 lead. The Jazz never got closer than 11 the rest of the way, and Denver led by as many as 21.
It was a different Denver team than the one that lost two straight earlier this week.
"I didn't think our guys were hungry enough on the two games on the road, and they were subservient to A.I. and Melo," Nuggets head coach George Karl said. "Tonight, there was more of play basketball and go."
No one epitomized that more than Kleiza. Before the game, Anthony Carter encouraged him to run the floor, and the point guard rewarded him by feeding him the ball.
"He got most of it leaking out," said guard Deron Williams, who led the Jazz with 23 points. "They got the rebound and he was running. When the shot was missed he was gone."
Gone, too, is Utah's four-game winning streak that helped them creep back into the Northwest Division race. With the Western Conference extremely competitive this year, the Nuggets and Jazz know that winning their division might be the only way to secure a playoff spot, which made Thursday's game a little more important.
"These are the games you have to win," Williams said. "You have to win in your division."
Game notes
Karl is hoping to see Nuggets F Nene on Friday. Nene had a tumor removed from his right testicle Monday and tests are being conducted to determine if it is benign. ... Jazz G Ronnie Price was activated after missing four games with a sprained left ankle. ... Nuggets F Kenyon Martin missed his second straight game. After Monday's loss in Charlotte, Martin had a minor medical procedure to treat a staph infection. Karl said Martin might play Saturday against Minnesota. ... Camby has eight 20-rebound games this season.
