You mentioned red date, which is warm in nature, can nourish the qi and replenish the blood. They are suitable for individuals with asthenic qi and blood.
People with asthenic qi and blood normally carry symptoms such as shortness of breath, pale complexion, catch flu easily, dizziness and heart palpitation. You can also add jasmine flower tea to relieve anxiety; another option would be brown sugar and ginger with boiled rice water. Brown sugar can strength the spleen and warm the stomach, as well as ward off cold and invigorate the blood; ginger can eliminate cold and warm the body, is suitable for ladies with aversion to cold.
On the contrary, if your girlfriend has healthy qi and blood circulation, is short-tempered and impatient, and carries heat-related symptoms such as sore throat and acne, then we should prepare cooling health tea for her. For instance, dried pear green tea, as pear can promote salivation and relieve dryness in the body, whereas green tea can dissipate heat; or you can try our ‘heat relieving tea (re qi cha)’, which can dissipate heat and eliminate toxins.

Vegetables to relieve damp heat symptoms
Summer is the season for gourds. Most of the guords can clear summer heat. They can relieve summer heat when consumed in moderation. Suitable for those with damp heat and yin deficient body constitutions, as well as those with gout, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Note it is not suitable for those with asthenic spleen and stomach and those prone to diarrhea and loose stool.
Amaranth - Cool in nature, can clear heat and improve vision, promote relieve constipation. Suitable for those with hard and dry stool, yellowish urine, urinary tract pain or burning sensation when urinating. Note that it is not suitable for those with asthenic weak spleen and stomach and loose stool.
Soybean sprout / mung bean sprout - Soybean sprouts are made from yellow larger-grained soybean and mung bean sprout is made from green-capped mung beans. They are both cold in nature, can dispel summer heat and relieve thirst, clear heat and remove toxins, promote diuresis and relieve bloating. It is especially suitable to have in this hot and stuffy weather, particularly for those suffering from heat stroke and accompanying symptoms such as irritability and lack of appetite. Note that those with asthenic weak stomach and prone to diarrhea should eat less.

如何得知肝臟是否健康?西醫會靠抽血檢驗肝功能指數是否正常,而中醫則可以透過觀察眼睛、指甲及頭髮判斷肝臟的生理機能,因為中醫理論認為「肝開竅於目」,眼睛出現不適症狀,有可能是肝的調節功能出現異常,例如肝火旺時會眼紅乾澀;肝血不足會出現視力減退、雙眼乾澀、夜盲等症狀;而眼白泛黃的人多數與肝病有關,例如肝炎、肝硬化等。
而中醫角度認為肝主筋,「其華在爪」,指甲的健康亦與肝有密切關係,因為指甲依賴肝臟精血的濡養,如果指甲軟而薄、枯燥沒有光澤、容易脆裂、甚至整片分離,都是反映肝的精血不足。
中醫理論認為「髮為血之餘」,而肝藏血,所以頭髮的健康亦能反映肝的健康狀況,年長的人肝血不足且腎氣虛,頭髮便變為蒼白稀疏,貧血的人亦會頻繁掉髮。

養腎補肝👉🏻杞子桑椹茶
功效:養腎補肝,滋陰益血,有美顏、明目及烏髮功效。
材料:杞子15粒、桑椹3-4粒、南棗2粒(剪碎)

How do you know if your liver is healthy? Western medicine will check the liver function index by drawing blood, while Chinese medicine can judge the physiological function of the liver by observing the eyes, nails and hair. Chinese medicine theory statea that liver connects to external world through the eyes. When you experience symptoms in the eye, it may be related to liver heat, lack of liver blood as those can cause poor vision, dry eyes, night blindness and other symptoms. Most people with yellowish eyes have some form of liver disease, such as hepatitis and cirrhosis.
From Chinese medicine perspective, the liver also reflects nail health as nails depend on the maintenance of liver essence and blood. If the nails are soft, thin, and dull, crack easily and even separate, it could mean lack of liver essence and blood.
The theory of Chinese medicine believes that hair is an extension of blood. Liver holds blood so the health of the hair can also reflect the health of the liver. Older people tend to have insufficient liver blood and kidney qi, and the hair becomes grey and thin, and those with anemia also have frequent hair loss.
Therefore, people with healthy liver will have bright eyes, glowy nails, and shiny volumous hair. If you want to nourish your liver, you need to get enough sleep.
