Enjoy delicious, restaurant-grade food without the hassle of spending hours in the kitchen prepping and cooking up a storm. The Hainan Story 海南寶 has just launched their ready to eat Hainanese meals that are bound to delight and evoke nostalgia on the dinner table.
We received their products below and we just had their Chilli Crabmeat and Cigar Mantou as well as Hainanese Yibua for tea. Super yummy! We can’t wait to try the rest.

These ready-to-eat packs are best kept frozen or chilled. Just thaw them and follow their simple, step-by-step instructions to cook, boil, or steam, before enjoying them.
What’s more, these creations are by the award-winning Chef Austen Ong who kicked off his cooking career as a 13-year-old apprentice of the legendary Chef Tham Mui Kai, aka one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Chinese cooking.
On 28 September 2021, Hainanese food lovers get to join The Hainan Story’s Market Place via their Facebook live on 8pm to grab some ready to eat meals.

"這是這張專輯中唯一真正有跟別人合作的歌,而會有這首是因為我一直以來都很喜歡 TEED 的音樂。當我們進到錄音室寫歌、錄歌時,他開始告訴我他有多喜歡我的上一張專輯《Worlds》裡收錄的〈Sea of Voices〉,以及他多希望那是他寫的歌,所以我開始勾勒出一幅稍微可以讓人想起那首歌的聲音畫面。接著,為了要讓這首歌符合《Nurture》,我們決定讓他唱——其實我們算是一起唱啦,整個過程匆忙得像一陣風。有一段時間,我把這首歌放在專輯比較前面的部分,因為它代表著一些變化,但在製作的過程中,我開始覺得:『不,這應該是專輯的收尾部分。如果要收錄這如史詩級的音牆效果,它就應該在收尾的地方出現。』"

3. Excellent eating quality -crispy and crunchy
Step 1: Thaw completely into liquid form at between 2°C -10°C. Before use, remove bubbles on top to ensure a smooth tart surface.
Step 2: Pour liquid into the tart shell, around 80-90% full.
Step 3: Preheat oven 235°C and bake for 17-20 minutes and ready to serve. If you want to use air-fryer, set the temperature to 180°C and bake for 10 minutes.

We are making shrimp and pork shumai. The shrimp is chewy and the meat is juicy! You should try this method for making the shrimp plump and chewy.
How to Make Shumai

(serves 3) Cook Time: 30 minutes
* Time for thawing shrimp is not included in cook time.
100 g Ground Pork
100 g Shrimp, peeled and thawed
1/3 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
10 g Ginger Root, chopped
1 tbsp Sake
1/2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
1/2 tbsp Sesame Oil
Pepper
150 g Onions, chopped
30 g Potato Starch
18 pieces Shumai Wrappers, packaged
[To thaw shrimp]
500 ml Lukewarm Water
1-1.5 tsp Salt
1-1.5 tsp Baking Soda, food-grade
Sake
[Combined Sauce]
Black Vinegar, or regular vinegar
Soy Sauce
Karashi Mustard
