凍飲引出小肚腩?
夏日天氣熱到人也快溶掉,想消暑的話,你會選擇凍飲還是熱飲?大部份人都想要冰凍飲品吧?!凍飲喝下去一刻好像感到暑氣全消,從中醫角度來看,冰塊確有消暑功效但要適可而止,凍飲屬生冷食物,多喝凍飲會損傷陽氣,脾胃運化水液的功能全憑陽氣推動,所以凍飲會使脾胃運化水液功能減退,加重體內寒濕,慢慢就會形成小肚腩,亦容易導致經痛、水腫、黑眼圈、臉色暗啞等問題。
一時間未能完全戒除凍飲的話,可以由轉飲走冰、常溫飲品開始,如在室內有冷氣的環境,其實喝一杯暖飲也很舒服,尤其使用消暑食材炮製的飲品,既消暑又養生,下次吃西瓜時剩下西瓜皮可以留起,用來煲西瓜冬瓜皮水消消暑吧!
自煮消暑飲品 — 西瓜冬瓜皮水
材料:西瓜皮約300克(整個小西瓜皮或半個大西瓜皮)、冬瓜連皮約300克(一斤)、生薏米30克、綠豆20克、片糖適量
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨。西瓜皮把最外面一層綠色皮切走,只留下白色部分,切塊備用。冬瓜連皮去核,切塊備用。
2. 鍋內加入2000毫升水,加入所有材料,武火煮至水滾,改文火煮30分鐘, 調入適量片糖即可。

Does drinking cold beverages cause big belly?
The summer heat literally causes us to ‘melt’. In order to dissipate heat, would you opt for cold or hot drinks? Most people, I guess, would go for a cold beverage? Drinking cold beverages may seem effective in getting rid of body heat, but from the perspective of Chinese medicine, ice cubes, albeit helpful in clearing heat, should not be consumed excessively.
Cold beverages belong to the uncooked and cold food category. Drinking cold beverages excessively will damage the yang energy, and hence take a toll on the circulation of fluids at the spleen and stomach. Consequently, this will increase the dampness in the body, and eventually cause the formation of a belly bulge, as well as problems such as menstrual pain, water retention, dark eye circles and dull facial skin.
If you are unable to give up on cold drinks completely, try beverages that have been ice-chilled or at room temperature. If you are in an air-conditioned environment, try enjoying a cup of warm drink. You may consider using healthy and heat-relieving ingredients to make drinks. Why not try boiling watermelon and winter melon skin with water and enjoy the drink to clear body heat!
Watermelon Peel Winter Melon Water
Ingredients: 300g Watermelon rind (approx. one whole small watermelon or half of a large one), approx. 600g winter melon with skin (1 catty), 30g coix seed, 20g mung beans, slab sugar to taste
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Cut off the outer green peel of watermelon rind, with white portion remaining and cut into pieces. Remove seeds from winter melon, keeping the skin and cut into pieces.
2. Add 2000ml of water into pot, add in all ingredients and cook on high heat until boiling, then simmer on low heat for 30 minutes. Add sugar to taste.

【小便看健康】小便變黃又混濁是濕熱的警號

竹蔗茅根清熱利小便
相比起冬天,夏天要上廁所小便的次數相對減少,這是因為天氣熱令出汗量增加,部份身體水份已隨汗液排出,所以小便次數減少屬正常現象。但如果你發現小便次數不但減少,而且尿液顏色變黃、混濁、排尿感覺不暢順,甚至有灼熱或刺痛感,身體就有可能受濕熱影響,宜適量飲用有清熱利尿功效的湯水,紓緩小便短赤的症狀。竹蔗、茅根是常見的清熱配搭食材,兩者均性寒,竹蔗清熱生津,茅根清熱利尿,不少街市菜檔更會配搭馬蹄、粟米等材料方便包出售,惟注意脾胃虛寒、便溏腹瀉者不宜飲用此湯。
清熱利尿湯水小貼士:
適當地添加清熱利尿功效的食材如冬瓜、荷葉、粟米鬚等。
老黃瓜竹蔗茅根素湯
功效:清熱止渴利尿,紓緩眼乾、口乾、尿少尿痛等熱病症狀。
材料:老黃瓜1根、粟米連鬚2根、紅蘿蔔1根、竹蔗1紮、新鮮茅根80克、赤小豆30克、洋薏米30克、 小米1/4杯
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨,老黃瓜去籽連皮切塊、竹蔗連皮切塊,紅蘿蔔去皮切塊、粟米去衣連鬚切段備用。
2. 鍋中加入2500毫升水,放入全部材料,武火煮至水滾,調文火煮1小時,最後下鹽調味即可。

Sugar cane and couch grass root to clear heat and promote diuresis
You may be urinating less during the summer compared to winter. This happens because you sweat more in the hot weather, so a portion of the body fluid has been discharged with sweat. But if you find that the frequency of urinations not only decreases, but the urine color is turning yellow, becoming murky, and urine flow seems incomplete and not smooth. You might even experience a burning or tingling sensation during urination, this could mean your body may be affected by dampness and heat. It is better to have soup to clear heat and promote diuresis in moderation to relieve scanty urination. Sugar cane and couch grass root are used as a common combination to clear heat. They are both cold in nature and can clear heat. Sugar cane can also promote fluid production while couch grass root can promote diuresis. In the wet market, water chestnuts and corn will also be packed in an ingredient pack. Note this is not suitable for those with asthenic spleen and stomach, loose stool and diarrhea.
Tips for soup to clear heat and promote diuresis:
Appropriately add in ingredients such as winter melon, lotus leaf, corn silk.
Old cucumber soup with sugar cane and couch grass root
Effects: Clears heat, relieves thirst, promotes diuresis, can relieve heat-related symptoms such as dry eyes, dry mouth, low urine output with pain.
Ingredients: 1 old cucumber, 2 corn with silk, 1 carrot, a bunch of sugar cane, 80g fresh couch grass root, 30g rice bean, 30g pearl barley, ¼ cup of millet
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Core old cucumber and cut into pieces (keep the peel), cut sugar cane into pieces (keep the peel), peel corn, keep silk and cut into pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2500ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1 hour. Add salt to taste.

春日天氣乍暖還寒,早晚,甚至出入室內室外溫差大,一時忘了替小朋友添衣,小孩就開始感覺煩躁、咳嗽、喉嚨痛、流鼻涕甚至發燒,中醫理論認為此乃「春溫」常見症狀,因為冬主收藏,小朋友陽氣旺盛,在春天感染病邪後容易轉化為熱象偏盛的症狀。如果小孩本身肺脾氣虛,肺氣不足未可正常防禦外邪;脾氣不足則未能把食物轉化成身體能吸收的營養,身體虛弱便容易生病。
改善易病體質要從日常生活入手,要有充足睡眠;適當保暖,避免腹部、背部受寒;少吃生冷寒涼食物;少吃偏熱性食物如溫補食材、煎炸油膩食物、香口零食、雞、羊等以防身體上火;適量飲用冬瓜粟米鬚小米茶,有助健脾強身。
冬瓜粟米鬚小米茶
功效:消暑健脾,紓緩體內偏熱症狀如喉嚨痛、黃痰、皮膚敏感等。
材料:冬瓜1斤(約600克)、新鮮粟米鬚約80克、小米(1/3米杯)或一包朝即沖米水、冰糖適量
做法:所有材料洗淨,鍋中加入約1500毫升水,放入全部材料,武火煮至水滾,改文火煮45分鐘即可,最後加入適量冰糖即可。
備註:配合體質,一星期可以喝2-3次。
Strengthen the spleen to prevent spring warmth symptoms
During spring, the weather is unstable. There is a large temperature difference between day and night, or even when entering indoors and going outdoors. If you forget to add a few more layers for the children, they may become irritable, have symptoms such as cough, sore throat, runny nose, and even fever. The theory of Chinese medicine believes that this is a common symptom of "spring warmth". As winter is the period to store, children have strong yang qi, it is easy to turn into heat-related symptoms in the spring after getting sick. If the child has weak lung and spleen qi, the lack of lung qi can not normally defend against pathogens. Spleen qi deficiency affects the body’s ability to absorb nutrients and the overall health is weakened and it is easier to become sick.
To improve disease-prone body condition, you should start with adjusting daily habits. Have sufficient sleep, always keep the abdomen and back area warm, eating less cold/raw and hot-natured foods such as tonic ingredients, fried and greasy foods and snacks, chicken, lamb to prevent developing excessive heat in the body. Appropriately drink winter melon tea with corn silk and millet to strengthen the spleen and the body.
Winter melon tea with corn silk and millet
Effects: Clears summer heat and strengthens spleen, relieves heat-related symptoms such as sore throat, yellowish phlegm, skin allergy.
Ingredients: 600g winter melon, 80g fresh corn silk, ⅓ cup of millet or a pack of rice water powder, appropriate amounts of rock sugar
Preparation: Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Combine all ingredients with 1500ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Add appropriate amounts of rock sugar to taste.
Note: For best results, drink 2-3 times a week according to body condition.
